Ons Dorp offers a unique lifestyle and living environment which also provides a range of services outlined below:
- Ons Dorp is more than a Retirement Village and Care Centre, it offers a community and unique lifestyle opportunity.
- As our origins are Dutch, the Ons Dorp community atmosphere has a quintessentially Dutch flavour.
- Our monthly maintenance fee is below average compared to other similar Retirement Villages.
- Ons Dorp is a non-profit charitable trust, so we exist for the good of our residents and staff, and therefore we are not profit-focused.
- Our villas are spacious, attractive and homely with an open plan living room and high ceilings.
- There is easy access from the Village to Henderson WestCity Shopping Mall, the Public Library and West Wave Aquatic Centre.
- There are also several general practitioners and pharmacies close to the Village.
- The Village is located nearby Waitakere Hospital.
- The Village is 3 km from the Western Motorway at the Te Atatu turn off.
- Every villa has its own front garden and a private paved courtyard and or grassed area.
- The Beatrix Pavilion located in the Village is an all-purpose community complex that features two big lounges, a stage, a library, a shop, pool tables and a home cinema system with surround sound and 100-inch screen. The Pavilion hosts activities including coffee mornings, craft mornings, bingo evenings, card clubs, indoor bowls, fitness classes, concerts, weekly shop mornings, fortnightly movie afternoons and monthly market days where you can try fantastic Dutch treats.
- A stunning new covered Atrium facility which includes quality outdoor seating, palm trees, water features, a large fish pond and outdoor fireplace. The Atrium has been officially opened by Mira Woldberg, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to New Zealand and Phil Twyford, MP for Te Atatu, Minister of Economic Development, Urban Development & Transport.
